Woldingham School 11 Plus and 13 Plus Deferred Entry | Pretest Practice Tests (and Courses)

Introduction

Founded in 1842, Woldingham School is an independent, Roman Catholic school for girls. Located in the former Marden Park on the outskirts of Woldingham in Surrey, the school occupies 700 acres. Woldingham educates girls aged between 11 and 18. The school operates a house system, where girls are placed into one of four house tutor groups named after influential nuns.

Woldingham School is a member of the Network of Sacred Heart Schools and aims to provide its girls with a sense of community, social awareness, and personal growth, while developing individual Christian faith. The school has an impressive range of facilities and a good academic track record – A Level and GCSE results are well above the national average.

How to Apply for 11 Plus and 13 Plus Deferred Entry to Woldingham School

Before applying for a place at Woldingham School for Year 7 or Year 9 deferred entry, parents and prospective pupils are encouraged to visit the school during one of its Open Days, which take place on Saturday mornings throughout the year. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the school, meet teaching staff, current pupils and listen to a talk given by the Headteacher. Parents can book a place on one of the Open Days by completing a booking form.

After visiting the school, the next step is for parents to register their daughter. A registration form should be completed and returned with the registration fee payment of £150.

After submitting a registration form, all applicants are invited to attend a Taster Event in either May or October. The taster events are not compulsory and don’t form part of the entrance assessment. However, they do provide girls with an opportunity to spend a day at the school. Girls who are considering boarding are also invited to stay overnight. For more information on how to apply for a place at Woldingham School, please contact the Registrar on 01883 654 206, or email [email protected].

Woldingham School Pretest Assessment for Year 7 and Year 9 Deferred Entry

As of November 2018, Woldingham School uses the ISEB Common Pretest as part of its admissions process for Year 7 and Year 9. The test aims to assess academic ability and is age-standardised. The test is taken online and covers Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning.

Pretest assessments take place in November, when girls are in Year 6. Details of the pretest are sent to applicants in August, ahead of the test.

In accordance with the GSA (Girls Schools Association), Woldingham also requests a reference from the student’s current school prior to her taking the school’s entrance exam.

In addition to the pretest and reference, students are also required to attend an interview at the school.

After taking the entrance exam, offer letters are sent out shortly after. Parents are encouraged to accept or reject offers as quickly as possible.

How to Prepare for the Woldingham School Pretest

A little bit of preparation for the ISEB Common Pretest can go a long way. One of the most effective ways to gauge your child’s current attainment level is to use online pretest practice tests and courses.

At Pretest Plus, we specialise in publishing online practice tests and courses to help students become familiar with the types of questions they will be asked on test day. They also help students get used to the layout of the pretest.

Our pretest practice tests and courses are all pitched at the same difficulty level so they can be used as an accurate measure of progress over time.

Each practice test includes modules covering Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, Maths and English. After each test is complete, students and parents can look back over the answers and refer to detailed explanations for each question.

The tests and courses also provide statistical averages to provide an indication of relative performance.
