Introduction
Maidstone Grammar School for Girls (MGGS) is a selective grammar school in Maidstone. Founded in 1887, it operates a house system, consisting of six different houses which compete in annual performance art and sporting competitions. [1]
Enhancing students’ knowledge and understanding, the school’s staff delivers lessons in line with the National Curriculum, including the subject areas of mathematics, science, English, MFL, history, geography, PE, DT, religious studies, art, music, drama and computer science.
Maidstone Grammar is actively invested in extending girls’ cultural horizons and their appreciation of differences, providing them with memorable experiences through expeditions to far-off destinations such as Nepal, and more remote ones such as Austria, France, Germany, and Spain. [2]

Maidstone Grammar School for Girls standard entry point is 11 Plus. However, the school also accepts applications from pupils interested in Casual Admissions (Late Entry). To assess pupils for late transfer, Maidstone Grammar School for Girls administers the CAT4 online test along with papers for Maths and English (essay).
The Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT4) covers four subject areas, each of them evaluating pupils’ Reasoning skills through standardised assessments.

These tests will be taken at Maidstone Grammar School for Girls. If you wish your child to be considered for the assessments, you should apply to the school using the ‘In Year Admissions Form’.
The examinations last approximately three and a half hours. Results will be made known in writing.
In case of oversubscription, the school operates a waiting list. Please note that MGGS will not place your daughter’s name on the waiting list if she failed to pass the entrance tests.
