Fulham Senior School 13 Plus (13+) Pretest Practice Tests (and Courses)

Introduction

Fulham Senior School was opened in September 2017, as an extension of the existing Fulham Prep School. Located in South Fulham, the senior school is co-educational and academically non-selective. It teaches students aged between 13 and 18. The school has a strong sibling policy and is supported by a full enrichment programme. Learning is focused on individuals and the school aims to teach its students to be committed, considerate and courteous.

How to Apply for 13 Plus Entry to Fulham Senior School

Before applying for a Year 9 place at Fulham, parents are asked to contact the senior school registrar to arrange a visit. The school advises that parents should aim to contact the school well in advance as external candidates are required to take a pretest in Year 6, ahead of entry in Year 9.

Once the student and parents have visited the school, a registration form should be completed and returned to the school, accompanied by a non-refundable registration fee. Once registered, parents will be informed of their child’s assessment date.

The following information is required for registration:

– The student’s full name

– Date of Birth

– Name and address over every parent/care known to the local authority

– Information about any carers

– Which parent(s) the child normally lives with

– Emergency contact details

– Learning needs, medical information, disabilities

In addition to completing the registration form, parents are asked to provide a copy of the pupil’s birth certificate or passport. Completed registration forms should be emailed directly to the school at [email protected].

Fulham Senior School 13 Plus Pretest (External Candidates Only)

External candidates who are registered for a Year 9 place are required to sit the ISEB Common Pretest in Year 6 as part of the school’s deferred entry procedure.

The pre-test is an age-standardised computerised test that is designed to measure a student’s academic ability. The test can only be taken once and covers Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, Maths and English.

The test is taken at the student’s current school in either November or December.

After completing the pretest, students are invited to the school to meet the Headteacher and to complete an interview. Successful candidates are then selected and issued with Deferred Entry offers. Parents are requested to accept offers in writing and to pay a non-refundable deposit of £1,500.

Fulham Senior School Admissions Criteria

For external candidates, admission is determined by a pretest assessment and interview in Year 6, for entry in Year 9.

All students are expected to support the school’s ethos. In cases of oversubscription, the school uses the following criteria, giving priority to:

– Pupils with siblings who already attend the senior school

– Students in Fulham’s Preparatory School

– Academic ability

Fulham Senior School has a family-centred ethos and prioritises the admission of siblings who wish to be educated at the same school. For further information on the admissions process at Fulham Senior School, please contact the admissions department on 020 7386 2444.

How to Prepare for the Fulham Senior School Pretest

The key to doing well in the Fulham Senior School pretest is to prepare in an organised and efficient manner. Here at Pretest Plus, we believe that one of the most effective ways to prepare for the ISEB Common Pretest is to use online pretest practice tests and courses. Our resources use the same format, timings, structure and question types as the actual test so they provide ideal preparation. There’s no doubt that a familiarity with the format and style of the test will improve a child’s confidence ahead of the actual test day.

Our practice tests and courses cover each of the four areas of the actual assessment – Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, Maths, and English. After completing a practice test, students are able to review their answers and refer to detailed explanations of each question. This enables students and parents to identify any weak areas that may need improving.

The tests also provide statistical averages, which give an indication of the student’s relative performance compared to their peer group. Tens of thousands of students have already successfully made use of these practice tests and courses to help them prepare for their assessments.

Our tests and courses are well-suited for students who are preparing for the Fulham Senior School ISEB Common Pretest. You can learn more about them below.
