How to Apply for 12+ Entry to Skegness Grammar School

For late entry, students are admitted (if places are available) on the basis of successful completion of the 12+ entrance tests. Candidates are expected to demonstrate their ability to benefit from a grammar school education. If there are more applications than places available, the school will apply its over subscription criteria.

The Skegness Grammar School Late Transfer 12+ entry CAT4 Assessment

Students who already in Year 7 and want to apply for a place at Skegness Grammar School can take the 12+ exam. This is a Cognitive Ability Test (CAT4) provided by GL Assessment that tests a child’s Verbal, Non-Verbal and Qualitative Reasoning and Spatial Awareness. The test is taken on a single visit to the school.

Skegness Grammar School Admissions Criteria (Mid-Year)

Entry is based on the successful completion of 12+ test. This test is marked internally by the school and is age-standardised. If a child is in the top 25 percent ability range and if the school is below its Published Admission Number (PAN), a place is offered and children can usually join in that school year.

For further explanation of Skegness Grammar’s admissions criteria, please read its admission policy.
