Handcross Park School » Year 7, 11 Plus (11+) Entry Information

Introduction

Handcross Park School is an independent co-ed preparatory school in Handcross, West Sussex, and dates back to 1887. In 2011, Handcross Park School became part of the Brighton College Family of Schools. [1]

The Prep School offers a broad curriculum, featuring a varied selection of disciplines such as Spanish, humanities, science, ICT, Latin and PSHE. As part of the educational provision, Handcross Park regularly welcomes guest speakers from a plethora of professions, providing pupils with a sense of direction for their future academic and non-academic endeavours.

Workshops, educational trips, competitions and the Able, Gifted & Talented programme further enhance the learning experience, amounting to its wealth, depth and exceptionally high standards. Children’s abilities are stretched across a number of activities, including Young Enterprise Club, sports, orchestra and drama, allowing them to think outside the box and maximise their self-esteem. [2]

The pastoral care provision is all-encompassing, placing the health and overall well-being of children at the centre of its priorities. As a result, they grow in resilience and moral awareness, as well as motivation to contribute to the school’s pervasive culture of kindness and consistently good examination results.

Handcross Park School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions

Handcross Park School welcomes all prospective families on campus to get a feel for its atmosphere prior to applying for a place. Open Days are held in Spring and Autumn, allowing parents and children to tour facilities and hear from key members of staff.

Registration forms the next stage of the admissions process. Online forms should be submitted with a payment of a £110 fee, which is non-refundable.

Your child will then be invited to attend Assessment Morning, which may be followed by a Taster Day to give your child a taste of life at Handcross Park.
